Dear Old Dad

My dad wanted to take me out for ice cream yesterday. I thought it was really sweet of him to offer, until I realized he also happened to have a toothache and that the cold ice cream would conveniently help ease the pain. Still, it was a nice gesture. We couldn't find a Dairy Queen or Baskin Robbins nearby so we ended up going to McDonald's. Halfway through my Oreo McFlurry I almost died of brain freeze, so what's left of it is now sitting in my kitchen freezer for another day (mom didn't want me to throw it out :).

For Father's Day, I promised my dad that we'd get a professional family portrait done. We've never done it before, so I'm really excited. Did you know that Walmart has ultra-cheap portrait studio packages? For $4.95 you can get a 10x3, two 8x10s, three 5x7s, four 3.5x5s and 21 wallets. It's absolutely ridiculous! And there's no sitting fee or anything. But it's pretty stingy for a Father's Day gift. So we'll go to Sears instead, which will have a nicer atmosphere and will probably be much more professional.
