the apartment

as demanded by catherine, here are some pictures of my apartment:

this is my room. it isn't decorated yet, but i've got the essentials. note that my desk is a plastic folding table like the ones used for church lunches =D you can also tell that i don't make my bed.

this is the living room. i am extremely fortunate to have a roommate who was able to move a ton of furniture from her parents' home. all the furniture seen here with the exception of the leather armchair is hers. the day we moved in others were moving out and she saved the armchair (which is in perfect condition!) before they tossed it into the dumpster.

this is the kitchen. please direct your attention to one of the few communal items i brought: the toaster oven. i am very proud of it although i have yet to actually use it.

finally, this is the view from the apartment. this part of town's not too ghetto = P also, i face south-west so i get to see a nice sunset everyday. from here you can see the ambassador bridge between windsor and detroit. it's the blueish structure seen in the distance in the top lefthand corner.

= (

tonight was my first chance to check email in a week since i've been camping in delaware and virginia and having a blast. however, as i was catching up on all the happenings at jaffray, i felt my first pangs of homesickness. jaffray has been my home for 18 years and the reality of being away and not being able to witness God at work there firsthand is starting to hit me. i'm going to miss jaffray so much! good news, though, is that i have a prospective church home in detroit. more on that later...
