i'm lovin' it

this is my first real summer in many many years. i've always had some sort of studying to do during the holidays, whether it was summer school or music theory, and i always had schoolwork at the back of my mind. not this year. i made the decision not to do any theory (even though i still have a few courses to do before i get my a.r.c.t. diploma) and since i've graduated, no summer school!

now it's all about the weekends (as much as i love my job), and they've been awesome so far. from grad bonfire to birthday celebrations to bridesmaid stuff to softball, my weekends are packed with activity and i'm playing hard : P looking forward to more great times throughout the rest of the summer.

Dear Old Dad

My dad wanted to take me out for ice cream yesterday. I thought it was really sweet of him to offer, until I realized he also happened to have a toothache and that the cold ice cream would conveniently help ease the pain. Still, it was a nice gesture. We couldn't find a Dairy Queen or Baskin Robbins nearby so we ended up going to McDonald's. Halfway through my Oreo McFlurry I almost died of brain freeze, so what's left of it is now sitting in my kitchen freezer for another day (mom didn't want me to throw it out :).

For Father's Day, I promised my dad that we'd get a professional family portrait done. We've never done it before, so I'm really excited. Did you know that Walmart has ultra-cheap portrait studio packages? For $4.95 you can get a 10x3, two 8x10s, three 5x7s, four 3.5x5s and 21 wallets. It's absolutely ridiculous! And there's no sitting fee or anything. But it's pretty stingy for a Father's Day gift. So we'll go to Sears instead, which will have a nicer atmosphere and will probably be much more professional.

here we go...

i had always told myself that i would only blog if i were to go away for school. i had this notion that i need a reason to start blogging, otherwise it isn't legitimate. but now that i'm probably not going away for school anytime soon, i've found another reason to blog: convocation and thus the dawn of a new era in my life. and while i am still in this ceremonial state of mind:
i hereby declare this blog begun (open? online?)
